Keep the light between you alive
Fitila is Yoruba for oil lamp. Two people, one shared flame — it dims when it is left alone, and warms when you tend it.
The lamp right now
Burning steady
Tend it and watch. Left alone, it dims on its own.
How it works
You pair with one person. That is the whole social graph — no feed, no followers, no one else to perform for. Between the two of you sits a single lamp, and everything in the app is a way of tending it.
Tending
A word, a voice note, a photo, a short video. Each one warms the lamp by a different amount — presence counts for more than a passing message.
The dimming
Left alone, the light fades over hours rather than seconds. Not a punishment or a streak to defend — just an honest picture of how long it has been.
Asking
Ask for time together — tonight, sometime this week, a full evening — or ask your partner to tend the lamp when yours is running low. Either of you can say no.
Looking back
Every week, month and year, Fitila gathers what passed between you into a short reflection. Keep the ones worth keeping; the rest fade.
What we do not do
Fitila holds the most private thing two people have. It is built accordingly.
- No advertising. There are no ad networks in the app.
- No selling your data. Not to anyone, at any price.
- No AI training. Your messages, voice notes, photos and videos are never used to train models.
- No one else can see it. Your moments are visible to you and the partner you paired with.
You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings, at any time. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Where it is
Fitila is in private testing with a small circle of couples, on both iPhone and Android. It is made by one person, and it is not yet in either store.
An iPhone and an Android phone can pair with each other, so it does not matter which of you carries which.
Try the beta
Fitila is in open testing through Apple's TestFlight. It is free while in beta, and works on iPhone running iOS 14 or later.
Open in TestFlightScan with your iPhone camera
Android
Fitila is on Android too, in closed testing. Places are limited while we find the rough edges, and we are letting couples in a few at a time.
Tell us where to send an invite and we will get you both in — email support@fitila.app.
Fitila needs two people, so please ask together with your partner.
