Fitila

Child Safety Standards

Effective: August 5, 2026

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Fitila has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page describes how Fitila is built to prevent it, how to report it, and what we do when a report reaches us.

These standards are published to meet Google Play's child safety standards policy and Apple's App Store requirements, and they apply to Fitila on every platform.

1. Fitila is for adults

Fitila is an app for couples and is intended for people aged 18 and over. Our Terms of Use set 18 as the minimum age, and the app is rated accordingly on every store where it is available.

Fitila is not designed for, marketed to, or intended for use by children.

2. How Fitila is built to prevent abuse

Most services that carry a CSAE risk do so because strangers can find each other, broadcast content, or contact people who did not ask to be contacted. Fitila does none of those things, by design rather than by policy:

This narrows the surface considerably. It does not eliminate it, which is why the rest of this page exists.

3. How to report

In the app: Settings โ†’ Safety โ†’ Report a safety concern.

By email: support@fitila.app

You do not need a Fitila account to report something to us by email, and you do not need to be the person affected.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at CyberTipline.org or 1-800-843-5678.

4. What we do with a report

Reports concerning the safety of a child are handled ahead of everything else.

When we receive one, we will:

1. Act quickly. We aim to make a first assessment within 24 hours.

2. Remove the content where we are able to identify it.

3. Terminate the accounts involved, permanently and without refund.

4. Report to the authorities. Apparent child sexual abuse material is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant national or regional authorities, as required by law.

5. Preserve evidence as required to support an investigation, notwithstanding our usual practice of deleting data on request.

We will not restore a terminated account in these circumstances.

5. Compliance

Fitila complies with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where it is available, including reporting obligations to NCMEC under 18 U.S.C. ยง 2258A.

Our published standards are aligned with Google Play's child safety standards policy and Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.

6. A note on encryption

We are open about this because it affects what we are able to act on.

Message text and media are encrypted before they are stored, using a key belonging to each pairing and held in a dedicated key management service. A copy of our database or file storage, on its own, does not reveal anyone's content.

Fitila is not end-to-end encrypted. Those keys are held by our infrastructure rather than only on your devices, which is a deliberate choice and has a direct bearing on this page: it means that when a valid child safety report or a lawful request reaches us, we retain the technical ability to investigate it, and we will.

If we ever move to end-to-end encryption, we would lose that ability, and this page will be updated to say so before such a change ships rather than after.

7. Point of contact

The designated point of contact for child safety matters, able to speak to Fitila's CSAE prevention practices and compliance:

support@fitila.app

We aim to respond to child safety correspondence within one business day.
